Hearings

The Board has full discretion to determine compensation and considers the facts of each case. 
 
Hearings are open to the public but only the affected parties may participate.

If you want to appoint a personal representative to assist you in the application/hearing process the "Appointment of Personal Representative" Form should be completed and returned to the Board.
 
Commencing September 1, 2007, hearings before the Surface Rights Board will be scheduled in central locations within Alberta where Provincial Court Buildings are located.  

Hearing locations will generally be selected from the following locations: Athabasca; Calgary; Drayton Valley; Drumheller; Edmonton; Fort McMurray; Grande Prairie; High Level; High River; Lethbridge; Medicine Hat; Olds; Peace River; Red Deer; Rocky Mountain House; St. Paul and Wainwright.

Costs necessarily incurred in traveling to the hearing will be considered by the Board in determining costs of and incidental to the proceeding.
